Congress has finally decided to uphold their Constitutional duties and act like a co-equal branch of government.
Earlier this month, the House 215-208 passed a measure to end Trump’s war with Iran, offering a rare reprimand of the president. On Tuesday, the US Senate approved the same war powers resolution calling for an end to Trump’s stupid, costly, and deadly war with Iran. Although the measure is primarily symbolic, it shows Congress has not completely conceded their Congressional duties, roles, and powers to the Worst President Ever.
The resolution “directs the President to remove U.S. Armed Forces from hostilities against Iran unless explicitly authorized by a declaration of war or a congressional authorization for use of military force against Iran.”
In recent months, the Senate voted on war powers resolutions nine other times, and in each of those instances, Democratic proponents picked up some GOP support, but not enough to succeed. This week, the 10th time was the charm.
Of course, the man-child threw one of his hissy fits and accused US senators, including four Republicans of providing aid and comfort to the enemy.
