SCOTUS Rejects Trump’s Appeal to E. Jean Carroll’s Sexual Abuse Case

Donald Trump’s handpicked Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal of the New York federal court case that found Trump liable for $5 million to E. Jean Carroll for sexually abusing and defaming the writer.

As is typical with such decisions, the high court did not explain why it rejected the appeal, nor did any of the justices offer a dissenting opinion.

Trump’s lawyers had insisted that the judge improperly allowed testimony from two other women who said they were targets of sexual misconduct by Trump, as well as the playing of the so-called “Access Hollywood” tape in which Trump is heard bragging about kissing and grabbing women by the pussy.

Trump is still appealing in lower courts a civil case in which E. Jean Carroll was awarded $83.3 million by another court for defaming Carroll.
