ICE Goons Murder a Man in Houston Who was Not Even a Target of their Mass Deportation Mission

In a predominantly Mexican-American neighborhood in Houston, TX, The Gestapo fatally shot 52 year-old Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a  father of three and a business owner who had lived in the United States as an undocumented immigrant for more than three decades and had no criminal record.  Like all the other fatal shootings The Gestapo has been involved in, DHS released a statement hours after the deadly shooting claiming that Salgado Araujo had rammed an Immigration and Customs Enforcement vehicle and “weaponized” his white work van “in an attempt to run over an ICE law enforcement officer.” However, three men who were arrested and detained during the same immigration raid witnessed the fatal shooting and dispute DHS’ account of the events:

“That is a lie,” wrote Jose Trinidad Rojas, 51, in a handwritten statement. “It is impossible for them to say that they were going to get run over … there were no officers in front of or behind the vehicle. They were on the sides.”

Balderas-Ibarra spoke to Rojas, Daniel Tirado Pantoja, 43, and the shooting victim’s brother, Victor Salgado, 44, and said he heard the same story from each as he interviewed them separately. The men are not being housed together, the attorney said. All three are undocumented Mexican immigrants who are now facing removal proceedings.

“All of them reiterated that there were never any ICE agents in front of the van,” Balderas-Ibarra said. “They came in and started shooting from the sides.”

The Gestapo Goons did not have any body cams on them:

GoFundMe raises over $400K for family of slain business owner Lorenzo Salgado Araujo

More than $400,000 has been raised to support the family of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a 52-year-old husband, father of three and small business owner who was killed in Houston by an ICE agent on July 7. ICE said an agent fired in self-defense that morning as the investigation continues.

By Friday evening, the the Salgado Araujo Family GoFundMe, organized by the family and the LULAC Institute, had collected more than 9,400 donations, reaching about 83% of its $500,000 goal. Organizers say the money will help Lorenzo’s wife and three sons cover funeral and burial expenses, legal costs and everyday living expenses as they navigate an unexpected loss. The outpouring of donations highlights how quickly communities can rally around a family facing tragedy. This also comes as protests after the Salgado Araujo killing.
