Delusional and Demented Don Goes Full Trottle:

There was a ton of press downtown in the days after 9/11, and Trump was a very famous person even in 2001, so could someone pls send photos of this lifting-up thing? Thank you

Trump’s Ground Zero story at 9/11 memorial event raises eyebrows

  • Speaking at the Ellipse near the White House to mark the upcoming 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, President Donald Trump once again claimed to have been carried away from Ground Zero by firefighters in the aftermath of the tragedy.
  • Standing beside a piece of structural steel recovered from the fallen Twin Towers, Trump said that two large firefighters physically lifted and carried him away from the U.S. Steel Building when they feared the structure was about to collapse.
  • “And I’ll never forget two firemen. We thought it was coming down on top of us, and two firemen, big, strong guys — and I’m not the smallest guy in the world — they grabbed me under the arm, said, ‘Got to get out of here!’ And they literally lifted me up,” Trump said. “This is not easy to do. I’m big. They lifted me up and they started running with me. I said, ‘Fellas, I can run myself,’ but they were amazing. But they thought it was coming down. It didn’t come down.”
  • Trump has told the story at least once before, during a January 2016 campaign stop in New Hampshire amid his first run for the presidency. He has also boasted about having sent crews from one of his construction projects to assist in recovery efforts, though no records have ever confirmed this.
  • Trump is scheduled to deliver remarks at a Pentagon commemoration ceremony on Friday, while Vice President JD Vance will attend the annual World Trade Center memorial service in New York City in his place.

PolitiFact reported that Trump was near Ground Zero on September 13, 2001, but could not independently verify his previous claims that he had more than 100 workers there and helped clear the rubble. In an interview after the attack, Trump implied his workers were locating bodies and attempting to find survivors.

Trump’s claims that he and his work crews helped with post-9/11 recovery have remained unsubstantiated despite repeated scrutiny. In 2019, retired FDNY Deputy Chief Richard Alles, who was at the site for months after the attacks, told PolitiFact he had no knowledge of Trump or his workers being there and said a crew of that size would have generated a record because all workers operated under the supervision of emergency authorities.

“40,000 🇨🇦 Canadian Soldiers, 153 of whom died, fought with us after 911. They weren’t attacked. WE were attacked, but they sent their troops to go fight with us.”The way the Felon has treated our Canadian friends, we are not worthy of their friendship. His actions are disgusting and disgraceful.

CNN: “NYC likes the guy a lot more than they did a year ago. There has been no drop off.”As some grossly attack Zohran for no reason, the numbers show he is more popular than ever. Him existing is why the fearmongering about DSA candidates won’t work.

State News:

Mississippi could face $75 million SNAP cost as food pantry demand rises

Mississippi could be responsible for an estimated $75 million a year in SNAP benefit costs under new federal requirements as food pantries across the state report increased demand for assistance.

Mississippi Food Network reported in August that visits across its network were up 36% from a year ago. The increase comes as Mississippi prepares to shoulder a larger share of the costs of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

Beginning Oct. 1, states will be responsible for 75% of SNAP administrative costs, up from 50%. Beginning in fiscal year 2028, states may also have to contribute directly to SNAP benefit costs based on their payment error rates, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
