Trump welcomed China’s leader Xi Jinping to Washington on Wednesday after rolling out the perfectly groomed red carpet for his “strong, vibrant, and fit” friend and supposed archenemy.
It is the first visit to the US capitol in a decade for Xi, where Trump will continue to tout a “truly great friendship,” with Xi saying the United States and China should aim to avoid conflict and confrontation.

It was also the first time a (weak) US president personally greeted a foreign leader at Joint Base Andrews instead of at the White House since 1962.
A flyover caused the beta president (Trump) to flinch, as he wore gloves and an overcoat on a tepid 64 degree afternoon.
The fanfare continued on Thursday morning, with Trump looking like he failed a sobriety test.
