While Trump was en route to Florida on Air Force One for a weekend of golf, he posted an update to the renovations currently ongoing to the Lincoln Bedroom bathroom.

The government shutdown continues, and the administration says it will not tap into emergency funds for SNAP benefits to continue into November.

Trump explained the art deco style was not appropriate in the time of Lincoln, but statuary marble was the appropriate material during the era of the Civil War.

“It’s actually Art Deco. And Art Deco doesn’t go with, you know, 1850 and Civil Wars…But what does do is statuary marble. So I ripped it apart and we built a bathroom. Donald is such an idiot. When the White House opened, it had no bathrooms. People had to use pots and outhouses. The White House only got its first real bathroom a few years before Lincoln took office. I wouldn't be surprised if there was no bathroom off that room during the Lincoln Era.
