Trump announced that the “Strait of Iran” is fully open after the Iranian foreign minister said the Strait of Hormuz was open for commercial vessels.
Iran says vessels must run through a coordinated route, and the opening of the strait will run through a 10-day ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel reached on Thursday.
It’s not clear whether Iran will be charging tolls, or whether ships will trust the announcement after being threatened and attacked.
Fully Open?
Trump also says that the blockade of Iran’s ports remains in effect until an agreement is reached with Iran.
