Former special counsel Jack Smith, who prosecuted Trump over the 2020 elections and classified documents, warned MSNOW viewers about his concerns for the upcoming midterm elections.
When Nicole Wallace asked if the public was facing a real-time assault on the upcoming elections, Jack Smith said, “I’m very concerned of what’s going to happen in the next election, absolutely.”
“Well, I’ve been thinking about it more in terms of what needs to be done based on what we saw happen last time. And, you know, it’s a different situation now based on, you know, the people who perpetrated January 6th have probably learned from how they did that,” Smith said.
Smith said under Trump, “We are facing an attack on the rule of law.”
Smith also said that “it angers me” to see career officials at the Department of Justice “demonized” by the Trump administration for their work on cases that are seen as hostile to the president and his allies.
