ICE (The Gestapo) detained former Texas Rangers Texas minor-league baseball player and current Diego Padres minor-league catching coordinator, Oswaldo Pierla, in El Paso, Texas’ airport. According to his family, Mr. Pierela ICE kidnapped Pierla at around 5 a.m. Sunday while he was traveling for work, which she said he does weekly for the Padres.
Ice confirmed they have Pierla in custody early Monday morning:
Sister, Daniela Pirela, said her brother is in the U.S. legally and sought asylum in 2014, when he first arrived in the country. Daniela Pirela said she doesn’t know why his asylum case has taken so long to process.
