Trump Announces Bigly Deal with Greenland, Denmark

Donald Trump announced on Friday that the US had reached a bigly deal with Denmark and Greenland that claimed to give Washington “permanant control over security” and the power to block adversaries like Russia and China from establishing military operations or other investments there “FOREVER.”

Trump branded the pact an “Infinite Life” Agreement, declaring “there is no end!” and calling it “a dream come true for the United States of America.”

Denmark and the US already have a long-standing security agreement that allows the US to deploy forces in Greenland, and it was not immediately clear how this deal would be different from that.

Denmark and Greenland confirmed an agreement was reached but emphasized that the agreement would not compromise Greenland’s sovereignty.

Denmark’s prime minister’s office said the deal will be signed next week at the United Nations General Assembly, following Parliamentary approval.

A NATO spokesperson on Saturday said the alliance welcomed the agreement, which would “help advance security, stability and cooperation in this vital region.”
