On Friday the pResident doubled down on defending the $4 million ad of the Vivek Ramaswamy campaign against Democratic governor candidate Amy Acton that features her deplorable mom claiming Acton is a liar.
Outside the White House, Trump was asked if he had changed his mind about defending the ad after the backstory of Acton’s stepfather charged with raping her at age 12 was publicized.
He doubled down on defending the ad and berated reporters who questioned his reasoning, adding that if Mary Trump had said anything bad about him, it would have become the “ad of the century.”

Documents obtained by NBC News from the Mahoning County Clerk of Courts show Acton’s stepfather, Cledith Arthur, was arrested and indicted by a grand jury in 1978 in Ohio for rape involving a child under 13 years old between 1976 and 1978. While the victim’s name is redacted in the records, Acton’s biological father, Gerald Stearns, signed one of the documents.
