Happy Election Eve, News Views friends!

Below are some news clips, headlines, and updates from the busy news cycle, which is about to ramp up to overload proportions. Please share what we missed to keep us informed and up to date as we GOTV for Democracy and accountability to the corruption in the White House.

The Defection and Meltdown in the Mitten State:

After US Congresswoman Haley Stevens from Michigan defected from her party to endorse MAGA Florida Mike Rogers for the Senate seat she herself coveted as a Democrat, several Michigan party operatives offered their take on the situation.

Stevens went on Anderson Cooper’s show and it did not go well, prompting speculation of Stevens’ mental health.

Immediately following the Stevens interview, Cooper brought on fellow Michigan Rep. Debbie Dingell, who was disturbed by the Stevens interview, worried for her colleague.

Stevens had told Dingell several times that she was not going to flip to a Rogers vote only the night before.

Dingell and Mallory McMorrow, who was also a candidate for the Michigan Senate seat, spoke about their concern that Stevens’ fiancé was a negative influence on her decision making process.

Former Michigan Governor Jim Blanchard reported that Stevens’ fiancé, Jason Turkish, began chiding her at a dinner he and his wife shared with the couple on Friday.

“He was working her over. The way he was saying it was, ‘Everyone is disappointed in you, they did everything they could to help you and then immediately after you lose the primary, you endorsed him.’”

Not the intended results, perhaps:

Abdul El-Sayed's Senate campaign brought in more than $2.4 million on Sunday — delivering its biggest fundraising day yet, according to the campaign. The average contribution was $36.74 from more than 65,000 donors.29,602 donors gave for the first time.
