In each term of The Fascist Felon’s reign of terror, the federal government experienced a shutdown, for a total of three, thus far. In January of 2018, the federal government shutdown for three days. The last federal shutdown ran for 35 days, from Dec. 22, 2018, to Jan. 25, 2019, making it the longest closure in U.S. history. According to the Congressional Budget Office’s estimates, it cost the US economy $11 billion, $3 billion in the last quarter of 2018 and $8 billion in the first quarter of 2019. During both of the previous shutdowns, Republicans controlled both chambers of Congress and the White House.
At midnight, the federal government officially shut down after Congress and the White House failed to reach an agreement on how to extend federal funding. Once again, the shutdown occurred under The Fascist Felon’s ‘leadership’ and under the control of Republicans in each chamber of Congress. See a pattern here?
What Happens During a Government Shutdown?
- Federal employees will go without pay for the duration of a shutdown, while members of Congress and Trump will still receive their salaries.
- About 750,000 employees will be furloughed each day, the Congressional Budget Office said, while others who work essential jobs, like Transportation Security Administration agents, air traffic controllers, federal law enforcement officers and members of the military, will be forced to work without pay.
- National parks will remain partially open during the shutdown.
- Medicare and Social Security benefits are unchanged, as they aren’t subject to the annual funding process, though new applicants could face delays due to workers being on furlough.
- The majority of veteran benefits and military operations will continue to be funded regardless of a shutdown.
- However, pay for military and civilian workers will be delayed until a funding deal is reached, forcing them to continue their duties without pay.
- The Department of Transportation will stop air traffic controller hiring, field training of air traffic controllers, facility security inspections and law enforcement assistance support.
- The FDA warned it would end its ability to monitor the use of new ingredients in animal food, and thus would not be able to ensure that meat, milk and eggs of livestock are safe for the public to eat. Long-term food safety initiatives would also be stopped during a shutdown.

What’s Our Fearless ‘Leader’ Up To?
Undocumented Immigrants Do NOT Qualify for Healthcare Subsidies:
Finally, a reporter asked the question I’ve been screaming at my TV. 📌 Why do you keep lying about immigrants getting free healthcare? And Trump went straight into his same old word salad mode of incoherent nonsense. No answer.

Moses Mike:
Here are three more factual statements: 1. 25,000 of Mike Johnson's constituents are about to lose health care 2. 27,000 more are about to have their premiums skyrocket. 3. A 60 year old couple in his district would pay $19,000 more a year.

i think this is poor tactically by Johnson et al; they will 100% take the blame for a shutdown, all of it, if they’re talking about it as an opportunity to do things they want to do
