TSA Files Incident Report After Nancy Mace Berates Agents and Police

South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace launched a verbal assault on police officers and TSA agents at a South Carolina airport on Thursday, prompting a police report to be filed on Thursday.

According to the report from the Charleston County Aviation Authority PD, officers with the department were scheduled to meet Nancy Mace at 6:30am at the curb in order to escort her to her flight. They were told she would be arriving in a white BMW at the ticketing area. At 6:35am, they were informed she was running late.

Shortly before 7am, officers were told she was at a different entrance for known crew members, an access lane with a smaller checkpoint overseen by TSA intended for flight crew.

When officers located her, she berated them with profanity, calling them ‘Fucking incompetent,’ and ‘this is no way to treat a fucking US Representative,’” the report states.

“She also said we would never treat Tim Scott like this,” says one officer tasked with escorting Mace.

The report states that during the entire walk to Mace’s gate, she continued to berate the police officers, cursing and complaining at them and into her phone. She stood at her gate for several minutes continuing her tirade until she finally boarded.

A TSA agent at the gate check approached the officers expressing his disbelief at her behavior. Officers checked with the TSA supervisor, who told police that Mace talked to several TSA agents — who are currently not fully paid — the same way.

“Any other person in the airport acting and talking the way she did, our department would have been dispatch (sic) and we would have addressed the behavior,” the incident report concludes.

The report also stated that video footage showed Mace arrived in a BMW that was not white.
