Justice Department withdraws subpoenas that sought reporters’ grand jury testimony, sources say
The Justice Department issued and then withdrew subpoenas that sought to compel reporters at The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal to testify before a grand jury, according to people familiar with the matter.
The Washington Post confirmed that one of its journalists received a subpoena from the Trump administration as part of a broader and aggressive crackdown on media leaks that in January also included the extraordinary step of an FBI search of the home of another journalist at the newspaper and the seizure of her electronic devices. Reporters at The Wall Street Journal also received grand jury subpoenas, according to people familiar with the matter, a rare and unusual move that critics said amounted to a threat against press freedom.
It wasn’t immediately clear why the government withdrew the subpoenas or what precise news coverage the subpoenas concerned, but the decision to rescind them, first reported Tuesday by The Washington Post, was confirmed by people familiar with the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss a non-public law enforcement action.

No, McMAGAts, 72% percent of registered Democrats {sic} DO NOT favor passing the Save America Act.
Besides their idiotic and mentally challenged claims about communism, the McMAGAts want you to believe that 72% of the Democratic Party supports Trump’s voter suppression bill but as always, they’re spreading lies.
When PBS News/NPR/Marist asked Americans in April whether they back voter ID, 74% said yes. But when the same pollsters asked about DPOC, support fell to 65% of Americans. A University of Massachusetts Amherst poll released in April found only 51% of Americans support DPOC registration requirements. Similarly, a Politico poll conducted in April found just 52% support DPOC. That aligns with a Strength in Numbers/Verasight poll from July, which found 54% of voters support DPOC, while 37% oppose.
And support for the SAVE America Act as a whole falls even further when you ask voters about the bill itself.
