Trump said on Thursday that a nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia would be contingent on the Saudis joining “the very respected and successful Abraham Accords” that son-in-law Jared Kushner negotiated in his first term, essentially forcing Saudi Arabia to establish diplomatic relations with Israel.
U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman signed an agreement Wednesday that has not yet been released.
According to the Department of Energy, the deal would lay the foundation for a decades-long, multibillion-dollar nuclear partnership between the two countries families.
