Stephen Miller will be stepping into Susie Wile’s role as Trump’s Chief-of-Staff beginning Monday, November 9, according to one of Trump’s Truth Social posts.
Weeks ago, Trump said there was “zero chance” he’d replace her. Then Republicans got crushed in the midterms. Now the most extreme person in the building runs it after having driven an extreme immigration and deportation crackdown.
Only yesterday there were leaks from within the White House about GOP knives out for PeeWee German, with insiders attacking his aggressive immigration policies as another basis of anger from voters in the midterm elections.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Melania complained to Trump that Miller’s aggressive deportation plans were going too far. Apparently Melania knew people who were being deported.
The New York Times reported that Susie Wiles herself was not a Stephen Miller fan, and had tried to get Trump to replace him for months.
Steve Bannon also was having kittens over Wiles remaining in the position close to Trump.
“I think that you have to look to people like Susie Wiles, the chief of staff, and the political consultants that are there … because of the results, they should be removed and removed immediately,” Bannon said in an interview with British journalist Steven Edginton.
Bill Pulte, the administration’s finance housing chairman who Wiles allies believed was undermining her with the president, was quick to praise Miller as the new choice. “Congratulations to my dear friend and colleague, Stephen Miller, on your promotion to Chief of Staff,” Pulte wrote on social media. “I can’t wait to work with you!”
Wiles is now the highest ranking official in the White House circle to leave in the wake of the blue tsunami that rocked the Trump misadministration.
