The MAGA board of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has had a meeting scheduled for this afternoon to vote on whether it will continue to operate if Donald Trump’s name is not added to the face of the building.
After a court determined that only Congress could change the name of a federal building, the board of Trump stooges has argued that the facility could no longer serve its purpose due to the need for renovations for the safety of its patrons.
The board claims that funding for renovations would rely upon Trump’s name on the building.
- The Kennedy Center board had filed a resolution as revealed in court records on Monday that indicated it would vote to add Trump’s name “below the name of the center” to credit him for planned renovations.
- The board has entered 10 different options for inscriptions they claim would be consistent with a court order.
The inscription options being weighed by the board include: “A Legacy protected through the Generosity of President Donald J. Trump” and “Renovation, Restoration, and support by President Donald J. Trump.”
- In a second resolution, the board would vote on immediately closing the center for an estimated two years of renovations to the main building.
U.S. Rep Joyce Beatty shared the board’s resolution with the court, and has asked the court to find the options in violation of the earlier May ruling that barred the board from any inscription of Donald Trump’s name on the building.
