Trump arrived in the Golden State and Nevada to tout his bigly ‘accomplishments’ on the economy, border security and crime, seeking to shore up support for Republicans in November elections that will determine whether his party keeps control of Congress.
The Republican president has struggled to connect with voters on the economy as elevated inflation and Americans’ feelings of uncertainty have overshadowed the stock market gains he often cites along with a low national unemployment rate.
But before he started his bullshit, an armed man was arrested on Sunday after federal agents said they observed him taking photographs and appearing to monitor security-planning activities throughout the Trump National Golf Club, days before the president was scheduled to visit the Southern California course.
The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department announced the arrest on Tuesday, Aug. 4, the same day President Donald Trump is scheduled to speak at a Republican National Committee dinner hosted at the Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes.
Deputies were alerted of “a suspicious individual” at about 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 2 after plain clothes federal agents noticed a man taking photos and videos as he walked through the golf course grounds.
Recognizing the potential security implications surrounding the incident, detectives from the Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Bureau assigned to the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) obtained and executed a search warrant yesterday, August 3rd, for Taele’s residence in the city of Downey.
During the search, investigators recovered:
• An illegally modified AR platform rifle
• A 1911 .45 caliber pistol
• An AR platform upper receiver
• Body armor
• High-capacity magazines
• Bulk pistol and rifle ammunition
• Multiple notebooks containing concerning statements
• Two radio signal devices
The investigation is being conducted in close coordination with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Joint Terrorism Task Force and the United States Secret Service. Additional charges could be added as the investigation continues. Taele remains in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
