Graham’s evangelical tour, scheduled for eight shows, would have coincided with Pride month but the ax began swinging in Graham’s direction when the first venue in Liverpool canceled him, saying it couldn’t in good conscience allow him to appear due to his hateful statements, which event organizers described as “incompatible with our values.”
In response to the cancelations, Graham’s organization, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is now considering lawsuits against the venues, Friendly Atheist reports.
CBN News had the following statement from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Associaton (BGEA) spokesman.
“Since the original venues have broken our legal contract with them, we are pursuing appropriate actions based on grounds of religious discrimination and freedom of speech. The Gospel always faces opposition, so we will prayerfully and boldly continue to press forward so that the Good News of God’s love and forgiveness will be proclaimed in all of the cities we have planned to visit”.
