Trump’s entire campaign this year has employed messianic messaging. Every one of his rallies begins with a random local pastor lamenting that the country has been taken over by evil people backed by Satan. That is then followed by the pastor claiming that Trump was chosen by God to be their savior, and he is the only one who can do it. I chronicled this with social media clips of it during every single rally.
Trump followed up that theme today with his Christmas message. The video started out normal enough with a few lines about the meaning of Christmas, then veered off into the musings of his demented mind. He emphasized again, falsely, that people only say “Merry Christmas” now because of him. He then talked about how God was going to help him win the 2024 election:
“With His help, by this time next year, we will be well on our way to making America safer, stronger, greater and more prosperous than ever before … May 2024 be the best year of our lives.”
