During a Michigan senate hearing on whether banning guns at state capitol buildings should be permanent, a Detroit groyper/Nick Fuentes fan boi dropped a racial slur in referring to Detroiters.
*** Below, the slur is not bleeped out.
According to a testimony card submitted to the committee, he is Avi Rachlin, claiming he represents “Groypers For America,” an alt-right white nationalist group most famously represented by Nick Fuentes.
Rachlin opened his statements by suggesting the will of the people who banned guns at the Michigan Capitol building had been overturned by the will of the people who voted Trump back into office.
The committee chairwoman, Sen. Stephanie Chang, D-Detroit, gaveled Rachlin out.
“Are you going to have armed guards remove me?” Rachlin asked. “Armed men with guns?”
Republican Sen. Jim Runestad interjected, asking “Did I just hear you call a group of people by some epithet?”
Rachlin affirmed.
Republican Sen. Ruth Johnson told Rachlin, “The term that you used is inappropriate, and it will not get you anywhere in this Legislature.”
Minutes later, the committee voted 4-2 to send the bills to the full Senate. Who opposed it? Runestad and Johnson.
The measures would generally prohibit guns inside the Michigan Capitol, the Anderson House Office Building and the Binsfeld Senate Office Building in Lansing. However, a lawmaker with a concealed pistol license would still be able to carry a weapon in the buildings.
