Our soon-to-be inaugurated Vice President JD Vance created a firestorm among the January 6 insurrectionists by clarifying that violent offenders should not be eligible for a pardon by the Chief Insurrectionist when he takes office next week.
JD’s comments are a bit different than what Trump has been telling MAGA over the campaign.
Recently Trump has provided little to no details about who would get the pardons he’s been promising except declaring that protesters who assaulted Capitol police officers “had no choice” that day.
Trump also says he will look at the “politically persecuted J6ers” individually, to separate those who “had no choice” that day from those who are “radical” and “crazy.”
As word got out about JD’s apparently incendiary remarks among the insurrection supporters, Vance had to shift to a CYA defensive comment:
MAGAts gotta MAGA
Check out the responses from these exemplary MAGAt insurrectionists:
Luke Lints was sentenced after pleading guilty to interfering with law enforcement during a civil disorder. He’s peachy.
Jake Lang is currently in jail and about to go to trial for beating cops. He thought he was getting out next week with a Trump pardon, but since he is charged with assaulting a cop with a baseball bat it looks like he is now going to stay behind bars — if JD Vance is correct.
