Trump lies about aid to Puerto Rico again as T.S. Dorian approaches land

The National Hurricane Center predicts Tropical Storm Dorian will hit Puerto Rico on Wednesday. According to CNN, the storm will bring high winds and heavy rains to the Island, which has not fully recovered from the devastating effects of Hurricane Maria in 2017.

Puerto Rico Gov. Wanda Vázquez Garce has already declared a state of emergency in preparation of the storm. FEMA is keeping a close eye on it and “is taking all possible preparatory actions in anticipation of impacts, including the forward deployment of personnel.”

Trump took to Twitter earlier Tuesday to, once again, tweet an erroneous claim about aid the Island received after Hurricane Maria.

Following the destruction Hurricane Maria caused Puerto Rico, Congress allocated $42.5 billion in disaster relief.  But, the Island has only received a total of $14 billion as of May 2019. Never did Congress approve “92 Billion Dollars “(in aid) as Trump keeps claiming.
