There were some coaching changes in the NFL recently.
The Dallas Cowboys fired Coach Jason Garret and hired former Packer coach Mike McCarthy.
The Giants, Browns and Panthers have fired their head coaches but have not hired new ones yet. Earlier the Washington DC team hired former Panther Head Coach Ron Rivera to replace fired coach Jay Gruden.
UPDATE: The Giants have hired Joe Judge to serve as the team’s next head coach. Judge was special teams coordinator and receivers coach with the NE Patriots.
The Panthers have hired Baylor University coach Matt Rhule to replace fired head coach Ron Rivera who is now in Washington.
Also today the Rams fired defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.
Jr. QB Tua Tagovailoa of Alabama has decided to enter this years draft.
Tagovailoa’s status became complicated on Nov. 16 against Mississippi State, when he dislocated his hip and fractured the posterior wall. That required season-ending surgery, though the early reports on his recovery have been good. NBC Sports
He was already recovering from surgery on a high ankle sprain when he injured his hip. Before the hip injury he was projected to be a high draft pick, perhaps the overall number 1 pick.
LSU Heisman Trophy winner, Jr. quarterback Joe Burrow has already declared for the draft and is expected to be the overall number one pick.
Speaking of LSU and Joe Burrow, they will be playing Clemson and next year’s odds on favorite to be the number 1 pick in the 2021 draft, QB Trevor Lawrence, on January 13 for the National championship.
