Milwaukee woman dies after hours-long emergency room wait forced her to seek care elsewhere
According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner, Tashonna arrived at Froedert Hospital’s emergency room with her sister around 4:58 p.m. on Jan. 2.
Suffering from chest pain, the 25-year-old requested to see a doctor and underwent a series of tests and x-rays, which revealed she had an enlarged heart. Her family previously told Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Tashonna was then asked to wait until they could provide her with additional care.
Tashonna then left, and collapsed outside her car at the urgent care facility.
She was taken back to Froedtert Hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
