All five officers fired shots, according to police. Another officer, Sgt. Sarah Carli, fired a less-lethal round. The District Attorney’s Office did not file charges against Carli, police said.
Police said during that armed robbery, Rodriguez was locked inside by the store clerk before officers arrived and ordered him to come out. They said he came out with a gun in his hand.
Video recorded by KOCO 5 at the scene appears to show Rodriguez holding and then dropping a gun, putting his hands up and then down again before he was shot.
The cops said his movements were “suspicious” and he was not following orders.
The cops are on paid leave.
