Before the usual suspects fire up their Fake News printing press and spread more lies to gin up even more faux outrage from their ignorant followers and parroters, News Views wants to provide you with the truth to combat their nonsense . This thread serves to also remind you, once again, why the New York Post and other Wing Nut ‘news’ sources are not acceptable sources to use or cite for this website.
Both Fox ‘News’ and the New York Post published claims that Vice President Kamala Harris would not go to our southern border anytime soon, but her 2019 children’s book, Superheroes Are Everywhere, would be “handed out in ‘welcome kits; to young migrants at a shelter in Long Beach, Calif.“
Of course, their false claims provided fodder for leaders and elected officials from the Republican Party to gin up their hate-filled base:
The Washington Post did some digging and found out these claims are NOT true. Shocking, right? Well, not to those who are not intellectually lazy or drain their brains on the real Fake News.
Long Beach city officials told The Washington Post that Harris’s book is not being handed out in welcome kits. A single copy of the book was donated during a citywide donation drive, officials said.
- Long Beach, CA began housing migrant children last week in its convention center. The goal is to find each child a home with family members or sponsors already in the country.
- DHS funds the facility but receives donations from the public.
- Someone donated a single copy of VP Harris’ book, which a Reuters news photographer photographed.
- Wing Nut World created their own set of facts and claimed children received the book as part of a ‘welcoming kit.’
The New York Post ran the photo on its front page (headline: “Kam On In”), along with a story falsely claiming, “Unaccompanied migrant kids brought from the U.S.-Mexico border to a new shelter in Long Beach, Calif., will be given a copy of her 2019 children’s book, ‘Superheroes are Everywhere,’ in their welcome kits.”
Both Fox ‘News’ and the New York Post are owned and operated by Murdock family. The Washington Post gave the ‘news’ sources and those who have spread these false claims Four Pinocchios.
