Brandon Mitchell, Juror Number 52, broke his silence and spoke about the Derek Chauvin trial. One of the issues he focused on was the speculation and rumor the jury was pressured to reach a guilty verdict; they were not. The video of Derek Chauvin’s knee on George Floyd’s neck for over nine minutes, which ultimately killed him, is what resulted in a quickly reached guilty verdict.
Mitchell also added that he and the other jurors did not watch the news during the trial or deliberations, so they weren’t aware of the protests happening outside of the courtroom.
