Dr. Jill Biden revealed the White House Christmas decorations on Monday and a theme she says was inspired by the people she met on Joe’s campaign.
In all, the 55,000 square foot White House was decorated by over 100 volunteers and included 41 Christmas Trees, 6,000 feet of ribbon, more than 300 candles and over 10,000 ornaments. The bling factor was comparatively low to the previous occupants, with smaller trees and fewer lights. The decor focused on Dr. Jill’s love of books and nature.
The stockings on the fireplace mantel in the State Dining Room reveal the names of the Biden grandchildren: Naomi, Finnegan, Maisy, Natalie, Hunter and Baby Beau. The ornaments on that tree feature photos of former First Families personally picked out by Dr. Jill. The Trumps, Obamas, both Bushes, Reagans, and Carters all have photos on the tree. The Biden family photos include the kids and grandkids along with dogs Champ and Major.
- Oddly enough, Dr. Jill did not complain about decorating the White House, like another FLOTUS from years past.
