Watch Live: Zelensky Addresses U.S. Congress

Join us for a live discussion as Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky speaks to Congress virtually from Kyiv. The speech is scheduled for 9amET.

Zelensky is expected to renew pleas for air support as President Biden on Tuesday signed a new $13.6 billion bill in new aid to Ukraine. Zelensky called the spending bill “the first step toward the full restoration of Ukraine.”

In 1941, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill stood before Congress to urge the U.S. to ramp up its efforts to turn back the Axis powers. Only a few hours after his speech, Churchill suffered a mild heart attack at the White House, as the Smithsonian documents. Churchill spent three weeks at the White House, bonding with FDR with late-night drinking sessions and annoying the First Lady.

Below is a six minute clip of that speech. You can read the full transcript here.
