Marjorie Taylor Greene Full of Hot Air at Biden’s SOTU Speech

Ahead of President Biden’s State of the Union address, Marjorie Taylor Greene said she wanted to bring a white balloon as her guest to the occasion, only hours after Speaker McCarthy had requested no “childish games” from his members.

While there was no sign of the balloon on the chamber floor, there was plenty of hot air, much of it from the Georgia representative wearing a white fur-trimmed coat.

Marjorie could be clearly heard calling the President a liar while Biden led a masterful “conversion” of Republicans to support Social Security and Medicare programs.

Greene stood up, jabbed her finger, and yelled toward Biden: “Liar!” Others followed. It was one of several outbursts from Greene who interrupted Biden’s speech by yelling, “China’s spying on us!” and later, “Secure the border!”

Biden encouraged Marge and his detractors to contact his office to receive a copy of the unnamed Senator’s plan to sunset entitlement programs.

*Florida Senator Rick Scott's "Rescue America" plan contained a 12-point plan that included the following suggestion : All federal legislation sunsets in 5 years. If a law is worth keeping, Congress can pass it again. You can read your own copy here.

“So tonight, let’s all agree — and apparently we are — and stand up for seniors,” Biden added, after which most in the chamber stood up. “Stand up and show them! We will not cut Social Security! We will not cut Medicare! Those benefits belong to the American people. They earned it. … If anyone tries to cut Medicare, I’ll stop them. I’ll veto it … But apparently it’s not going to be a problem.”

White House staffers watching on televisions in the West Wing cheered and high-fived at that moment, according to an administration official speaking on the condition of anonymity.

Apparently this all made Marge real mad, and she retreated back to her white balloon and a camera.
