DeSantis Wants Apology From Andrea Mitchell, Cancels NBC/MSNBC

The office of the Florida governor has announced it will cancel “boycott” NBC and MSNBC after Andrea Mitchell interviewed VP Kamala Harris and asked her what Ron DeSantis didn’t know about Black history and the Black experience.

Gov. DeSantis had his feelings hurt and felt that Andrea Mitchell misrepresented his position on teaching slavery in Florida classrooms.

Mitchell offered an admittance that her question to Harris was “framed incorrectly,” while adding a bit more criticism.

“In my interview last Friday with Vice President Harris, I was imprecise in summarizing Governor DeSantis’ position about teaching slavery in schools. Governor DeSantis is not opposed to teaching the fact of slavery in schools, but he has opposed the teaching of an African American studies curriculum as well as the use of some authors and source materials that historians and teachers say makes it all but impossible for students to understand the broader historic and political context behind slavery and its aftermath in the years since.”

So, not good enough. DeSantis had his press secretary tweet out that Ron won’t be a part of any interviews on the NBC/MSNBC network because of Andrea’s “blatant lie.”

DeSantis has never been a regular on the NBC circuit.
