According to police reports, D.C. police arrested Michelle “Micki” Witthoeft, the mother of the dead January 6, 2021 insurrectionist, Ashli Babbit, on charges of simple assault and destruction of property, said Officer Hugh Carew, a police spokesman. In the report, a woman complained that during a demonstration she was pushed and that a strap on a bullhorn was damaged.
This is not the first ‘rodeo’ for the 58 woman from Spring Valley, CA. Earlier this year, Witthoeft was arrested in an incident involving blocking traffic on Capitol grounds on the second anniversary of the insurrection. A statement from U.S. Capitol Police said she was arrested for failing to obey police orders and blocking and obstructing roadways. The charges were later dropped.
Witthoeft and other supporters of the Jan. 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol participated in a Memorial Day march in honor of Babbitt, who was an Air Force veteran, chanting “Ashli Babbit!” along the route.
An anti-fascist live-streamer, who went by the name Anarchy Princess, yelled, “Fuck Ashli Babbitt!” throughout the march in response.
