Watch Live: DOJ Statement On Trump Indictment

BE THERE, WILL BE WILD!!!

The indictment for the twice-impeached, disgraced ex-President has been unsealed, and Special Counsel Jack Smith of the DOJ is scheduled to issue a live statement at 3:00pmET.

News Views is offering a livestream of the event and the prefacing discussion.

What’s happening:

Trump lawyers Jim Trusty and John Rowley said they had “tendered our resignations as counsel to President Trump, and we will no longer represent him on either the indicted case or the January 6 investigation.”

Authorities are also charging Walt Nauta, a long-time aide (or box-mover), with crimes.

The evidence included an audio recording from 2021, in which Trump complains about Gen. Mark Milley and a secret document. In the audio Trump talks about an apparently secret document and says, “As president, I could have declassified it, but now I can’t,” a person familiar with a transcript of the remarks said Friday.

“Well, with Milley — uh, let me see that, I’ll show you an example. He said that I wanted to attack Iran. Isn’t that amazing? I have a big pile of papers; this thing just came up,” Trump said, according to the person familiar with the transcript. “Look. This was him. They presented me this — this is off the record, but — they presented me this. This was him. This was the Defense Department and him. … This wasn’t done by me, this was him. All sorts of stuff — pages long, look. Wait a minute, let’s see here. I just found, isn’t that amazing? This totally wins my case, you know. Except it is like, highly confidential. Secret. This is secret information. Look, look at this. … This was done by the military and given to me.”

Who will be Trump' running mate?
