When federal prosecutors urged a federal appeals court to lift Judge Aileen Cannon’s injunction blocking the release of the DOJ Mar-a-Lago classified documents, Attorney General Merrick Garland revealed his intent to release to the public the findings of Jack Smith’s 2020 election subversion case.
The court filing also said that the department will not release the investigation into Trump’s handling of classified documents, as to “avoid any risk of prejudice” to Trump’s co-defendants in the case, Walt Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira, whose cases are still pending.
Garland made the recommendation at Jack Smith’s determination.
