The Fascist Felon Signs EO to Overhaul Federal Elections

On Tuesday, The Fascist Felon signed an Executive Order to overhaul elections in the U.S., including requiring documentary proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections and demanding that all ballots be received by Election Day. His latest fascist move to suppress the vote will more than likely face swift legal challenges because states have broad authority to set their own election rules and voting rights advocates believe The Fascist Felon lacks the legal authority to make such changes.

Besides being based on the “Big Lie, “illegals” voting in our elections, and rampant voter fraud that cost The Fascist Felon the 2020 election, the bigly EO claims the United States “fails to enforce basic and necessary election protections.” So, to remedy this non-existent issue, the EO will do the following:

  • New, updated voting forms.
  • When registering to vote, voters must show proof of citizenship, like a passport, to a local or state official.
  • States must remove all non-citizens from voter rolls.
  • States and federal agencies must share data to prosecute election crimes.
  • Give federal agencies, including the DOGEbags, access to check state rolls “for consistency with Federal requirements.”
  • Directs federal agencies to share data with states, such as immigration and Social Security records, to facilitate states checking the eligibility of the names on their voter rolls.
  • Seeks to stop states from counting mail or absentee ballots postmarked by Election Day but received after by withholding funding from states that allow such ballots to be counted.

The order’s documentary proof of citizenship requirement signals that the president is not waiting for congressional Republicans to pass their long-anticipated Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, or SAVE Act, which has aimed to do the same thing.

Voting rights groups have expressed concerns that the requirement could disenfranchise people. An estimated 9% of U.S. citizens of voting age, or 21.3 million people, do not have proof of citizenship readily available, according to a 2023 report by the Brennan Center for Justice and other groups.
