The US recovered 1.4 million jobs in August as the jobs recovery continued to slow. Although the unemployment rate fell to 8.4% and reached the lowest number since March, it remains one of the worst unemployment rate in modern history. Only about 48% of the 22 million jobs lost from the Trumpvirus have returned; the US is still down 11.5 million jobs to achieve full recovery.
Since states began re-opening to some degree, the US job recovered 1.7 million jobs in July and 4.8 million in June. Thus far, August appears to have the lowest numbers of jobs recovered.
