In private, some GOP senators have expressed disgust about The Fascist Guy picking unfit cronies to lead critical government operations. But in public, only two have expressed their concerns openly; it’s a start, I guess. But—especially considering that the most consequential nominations include Tulsi Gabbard, Pete Hegseth, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Kash Patel—the overall response from Senate Republicans has been pitifully weak.
Senator Rand Paul (Idiot-KY/Poodlehead) slammed The Fascist Guy’s plan to put tariffs on pretty much anything and everything imported into the country and his plan to use the military to round up and deport millions of undocumented immigrants.
Although GOP Sen. Mike Rounds, (Jackass-S.D.) introduced S. 5384, which would abolish the Department of Education, he expressed support for FBI Director Christopher Wray, just one day after The Fascist Guy said he would nominate Kash Patel to lead the agency as Wray’s replacement.
“Chris Wray, who the president nominated the first time around — I think the president picked a very good man to be the director of the FBI when he did that in his first term,” Rounds said during an interview on ABC News’ “This Week.”
“When we meet with him behind closed doors, I’ve had no objections to the way that he’s handled himself, and so I don’t have any complaints about the way that he’s done his job right now,” Rounds added about Wray
Rounds also casted doubt on The Fascist Guy’s ability to settle the Russia-Ukraine war, saying:
“The president’s got a huge job on his hands if we’re going to be successful in stopping Putin.”
“I don’t think that we should deceive ourselves, I think Mr. Putin is a tyrant,” Rounds (R-S.D.) told host Jonathan Karl on ABC’s
“This Week.” “I think dealing with him is going to be extremely difficult. I give President Trump credit for saying that he wants to end this. He wants to end the bloodshed. He doesn’t like the suffering that’s out there. I just think this is going to be an enormous task for anybody to negotiate with Putin.
However, in the end and when it comes time to vote for The Fascist Guy’s agenda or confirm his Brownshirts, more than likely, bot Poodlehead and Jackass Rounds will join the rest of the Republican Chickenshits and vote in favor for whatever the The Fascist Guy demands. You know, primaries aren’t as much fun as running unopposed.
