Creator of 8Chan says, ‘Shut the Site Down,’

Fredrick Brennan, he creator of 8Chan, held an interview with the New York Times and told them, “Shut the site down. “It’s not doing the world any good. It’s a complete negative to everybody except the users that are there. And you know what? It’s a negative to them, too. They just don’t realize it.”

Brennan finally realizes that with each mass shooting the US has, 8Chan may have some connection to them.

Brennan started the website in 2013 while on shrooms to counter the restrictive nature 4Chan had become. He “envisioned a website where any legal speech would be welcome, no matter how toxic.

8Chan has become a site for 4Chan refugees, QAnon supporters, far right, neo-Nazis, and other extremists to share their hate, paranoia, and disgust and also to feed off of other’s hate and disgusting. Now, Mr. Brennan wants the site shuttered—way after the fact.
