ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The parents of a Rio Rancho teen accused of firing a gun in a local high school have been indicted on one count each of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a fourth-degree felony.
Police say that 11 months before Joshua Owen, 16, came to Cleveland High School armed and wearing a ski mask, he reported hearing voices telling him to “shoot up the school.” Court documents allege his parents, Dale Owen, 62, and Tamara Owen, 48, were aware of the situation, but failed to secure their gun.
Joshua Owen was charged with three counts of attempted murder and gun charges last February.
