Trump administration is looking at ending birthright citizenship ‘very seriously’

Wednesday, Trump told reporters his administration is looking ‘very seriously’ at ending birthright citizenship.

“We’re looking at that very seriously.  Birthright citizenship, where you have a baby on our land — walk over the border, have a baby, congratulations, the baby’s now a U.S. citizen.”

During his 2016 election campaign, Trump told his supporters he would work to end the provision in the Fourteenth Amendment that grants citizenship to all people born in the United States regardless of their parents’ immigration status.

Earlier this year, he brought the same issue stating he would end Birthright Citizenship by Executive Order.

Numerous lawmakers, including Republicans, have stated on several occasions that Trump lacks the authority to circumvent the Constitution but Trump still claims he will end the provision “one way or another.”

Who will be Trump' running mate?
