Former President George W. Bush painted a portrait for John Boehner

After retiring from Congress, Speaker John Boehner received a gift from former President George W. Bush; a portrait of him painted by W. Since leaving office Bush has taken up lots of painting.

Boehner showed the portrait for the first time during an interview with Barstool Sports. It originally featured the former Speaker of the House with white hair.  But, in his own “special” manner, Boehner texted W and asked if he would fix it.

Boehner said the painting will not become the official portrait hanging in the Speaker’s Lobby but just a gift from the former president. The two politicos have remained friends after leaving office.
