Wing Nut Watch: Candace Owens claims White Nationalism and Supremacy doesn’t harm black America

House Republicans invited far-right pundit and founder of Blexit, Candace Owens, to speak before the House Oversight Joint Subcommittee. In her latest speech to Congress, Owens outright denied that White Supremacy has had any affects on the Black Community.

“If we’re going to have a hearing on white supremacy, we are assuming that the biggest victims of that are minority Americans,” Owens stated. “And presumably this hearing would be to stop that and preserve the lives of minority Americans. Which based on the hierarchy of what’s impacting minority Americans, if I had to make a list of 100 things, white nationalism would not make the list.”

The Daily Beast:

Instead, Owens checked all the boxes and spewed forth a bunch of right-wing talking points about what really plagues the Black Community.

In the past, Ms. Owens has tried to legitimize Hitler, claimed the Southern Strategy never happened, and laughed out loud when she found out the alleged shooter in the New Zealand massacre called her “the person who has influenced me above all.”

On The Ingraham Angle, Owens claimed: “things were far better for the black community in America in the immediate aftermath of the abolition of slavery, claiming it has since been all downhill for African Americans because of ‘socialism.’” Obviously, she forgot about Jim Crow laws and the reasons why the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Act became law.
