DoJ appeals court ruling allowing the House review grand jury evidence

A follow-up to a previous News Views article:

On Monday, the Department of Justice “appealed a federal judge’s ruling granting congressional Democrats access to grand jury evidence from special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation and asked that judge to place a hold on the production of the material pending resolution of the appeal.”

The DoJ argued that if they have to hand over grand jury evidence, the department would be “irreparably harmed.”

“Once the information is disclosed, it cannot be recalled and the confidentiality of the grand jury information will be lost for all time – particularly if the (House panel) decides to publicize the now-secret … materials,” the government argued in court papers filed Monday.
