“Calling all sandwich lovers,” the email that also promoted the Chick-fil-A One program said, “Some prefer it grilled, others fancy the original. No matter which Chick-fil-A sandwich you love, order yours on November 3 for National Sandwich Day.”
Popeyes took advantage of Chick-fil-A’s Sunday closure by announcing it would re-launch it’s chicken sandwich Sunday on National Sandwich Day.
In a short YouTube video, a highway sign showing Popeyes and Chick-fil-A’s names is updated to add the words “open Sunday” under Popeyes, next to the “closed Sunday” under Chick-fil-A.
Popeyes temporarily discontinued their chicken sandwich after it was sold out instantly. Chick-fil-A later sent out an apology seemingly expressing surprise that November 3 would occasionally fall on a Sunday.
