SCOTUS to hear arguments on DACA; Trump claims he’ll ‘make a deal’ if overturned

The fate of the Obama-era program that has allowed about 800,000 young people who entered the country as children, known as dreamers, to avoid deportation.

Of course, Trump took to Twitter to label many DACA recipients ‘hardened criminals’ and attack President Obama. As usual, he provided no evidence to support his claim.

True to form, facts are not on Trump’s side, just more red meat for his bigoted base.

Dreamers have a lower-rate of incarceration than native-born Americans, according to a 2017 study by the libertarian CATO Institute. And only qualified dreamers who have “not been convicted of a felony, significant misdemeanor or three or more other misdemeanors” can even be considered for DACA status, according to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
