Over 300 Trump political ads removed by Google and Youtube

Over the summer, Google and Youtube removed over 300 of Trump’s political ads for violating company policy. In an interview with CBS 60 Minutes, Google CEO Susan Wojcicki claimed: “There are ads of President Trump that were not approved to run on Google or YouTube.” When pressed for an example, Wojcicki added, “Well, they’re available in our transparency report.”

60 Minutes reviewed the companies’ transparency reports detailing incidents in which ads have been taken down, but found that the records offered no explanations for the removals, and no record of the original content of the ads.

  • “We found very little transparency in the transparency report,” the “60 Minutes” report said.

Axios:

Although Trump’s videos about Joe and Hunter Biden and the non-existent Ukraine scandal were very misleading (conspiracy theories/lies), Google/Youtube didn’t yank them because they did not violate the company’s policy.
