Florida Man skeptical of coronavirus gets infected, changes opinion

“I thought it was maybe the government trying something, and it was kind of like they threw it out there to kinda distract us,” said Brian Hitchens.

Hitchens was a COVID-19 skeptic. He dismissed the threat of the virus and said God is bigger than this virus will ever be.

“I’d get up in the morning and pray and trust in God for his protection, and I’d just leave it at that. There were all these masks and gloves. I thought it looks like a hysteria,” Hitchens explained.

He has tested positive for COVID-19 and is at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, a 199-bed acute care hospital.

Hitchens says he doesn’t want anyone to go through what he went through and wants people to take the virus seriously.

By the way, his wife is in the same hospital, also for coronavirus and is on a ventilator.

Both have been there for about 3 weeks. They can’t see each other and they don’t know how much longer they will be there.
