Billy Barr accuses ‘far left extremists’ for rioting and looting

Attorney General William Barr blamed the violent protests that have swept across major cities in the United States on “anarchic and far-left extremist groups” in a brief public address on Saturday.

“In many places it appears the violence is planned, organized and driven by anarchic and far left extremist groups using Antifa-like tactics, many of whom travel from outside the state to promote the violence,”

NBC:

Billy Barr must have missed the memo that ‘Far-Right Extremists Are Hoping to Turn the George Floyd Protests Into a New Civil War.’

Far-right extremists are showing up, with guns, to the protests against police brutality that have exploded across the country.

Others are egging on the violence from behind their computers, urging followers to carry out acts of violence against black protesters with the goal of sparking a “race war.”

For example, the so-called Boogaloo Bois — a group of armed anti-government extremists made visible by their Hawaiian shirts — have reportedly shown up to some of the protests.

The “boogaloo” is code for impending civil war or violent confrontation with law enforcement.

Trump announced Saturday that the military police were ready to deploy to Minneapolis amid ongoing protests in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death.
